“I came here expecting to compete,” he said. “I’m still going to compete. Just because he left doesn’t mean that my effort and my work goes down. I still have to get better.” – FULL ARTICLE: http://hamptonroads.com/2015/08/new-quarterback-has-starting-job-nsu-and-plenty-prove

Former Boyd Anderson Cobra QB, Greg Hankerson making moves, literally, at the collegiate level. Out of High School Hankerson graduated, was offered a full scholarship and took his talents not far up the road from Lauderdale Lakes, FL., to South Florida’s Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton, FL.

As a former Cobra, alongside well known Alabama Crimson Tide Defensive Back Eddie Jackson, Hankerson comes from that same Boyd Anderson team that was just shy of being a State Champion. “Ryan Stoutt – Keeping Dreams Alive Director/Mentor says, If it weren’t for Nationally Ranked St. Thomas Aquinas knocking them out in the 3rd round of the playoffs, I’m convinced that they would have taken the title” Stoutt says. “If you can get through St. Thomas you have a good shot at going the distance.”

Stoutt (alongside his father) was heavily involved in the College and Career Readiness Program taking place at Boyd Anderson HS. Stoutt, at that time was playing QB at Tabor College, KS., worked with the Student Athletes during Winter and Summer breaks. “They brought me in because I was able to relate to the Student Athletes on a different level.” “I was still active in the game, competing at the collegiate level, and the Athletes looked up to me because they strived to be in the same position I was,” says Ryan Stoutt.

“I worked with Hankerson on and off the field on multiple occasions. I remember being home for their 3rd round playoff game vs. St Thomas Aquinas and receiving a call from the coaching staff to come in and get Hankerson ready.” “Out of the hour we spent together we didn’t talk much football, just life in general. Those are the moments you cherish forever,” Stoutt says.

The Keeping Dreams Alive Foundation spent the entire season mentoring the Football Program and LIVE streaming their games through the NCRA Sports Network to College Coaches and Universities across the nation. Hankerson was also one of the many student athletes from Boyd Anderson High School that participated as a guest on the panel during the weekly live high school sports shows broadcast from the Bru’s Room Sports Grill in Coral Springs,FL.
