Sometimes it takes a loss to get your mind right. The Miami Carol City Chiefs learned that the hard way in their season opener when they assumed that all they had to do was just show up and that would be enough to win.

Well, it did get their minds right as Stephen Buckshot Calvert, QB Miami Carol City told me in our candid conversation today about the Chief’s journey from week one all the way up to last Friday night’s win over Lakeland as well as his thoughts and expectations for the rest of the season.

Listen to the candid conversation today as we talk about Calvert’s thoughts on the Chief Family, Coach Aubrey Hill, Offseason Preparation, Gameday Expectations, His Early Commitment to Liberty University and a host of other topics.

Week 2 of the season the Chief’s traveled up to Palm Beach to play against Oxbridge Academy where the team began to show the talent the team is loaded with. The Chief’s defense held Oxbridge to 14 points as Calvert threw three touchdown passes that allowed Carol City to score big on the road and bring home a 27-14 victory.

Week 3 the Chief’s got on the road again and made an even longer trip up to Lakeland, FL to meet 7A Powerhouse Lakeland Dreadnaughts. Well, before the Dreadnaughts could ‘strap up’ the Chiefs QB Stephen Calvert had already thrown 4TD passes, 3 of which went to junior Kevaughn Dingle – Hudl

Listen to the Live Interview of Buckshot as he names a host of receivers for turning great catches into touchdowns as well as letting me know that he could have never gotten it done if it hadn’t been for the Chiefs Offensive Lineman protection up front.

This senior QB says when asked how he wanted to be remembered if someone asked someday down the road what they thought about that QB Buckshot that attended Miami Carol City? “I just want to be remembered as a Leader”…
