In his third season at Eisenhower High School, head Coach Al Brown has the Eagles soaring again. His Eagles are off to their best start since his tenure with 6-0 start to the season. Eisenhower is looking to take their record to 7-0 when they meet Rim of the World tomorrow night at Ronnie Lott Field in Rialto (CA) at 7:00 PM.
There was a time when Eisenhower High School ruled the Southern California high school football world in the 1980’s and ‘90s with players such as NFL Hall of Fame defensive back Ronnie Lott leading the way. Before Long Beach Poly and Mater Dei rose to interscholastic prominence, there was Eisenhower High School. Coach Brown hopes the magic is back in the Eagle program and when asked what makes this current Eagles’ team so special, he replied simply, “we have good leaders on this team, and we only look to go 1-0 each week.”
The Eagles are blessed with gifted group of senior impact players notably Oshea Davis, a senior cornerback and all-purpose player, Caesar Ayala, the junior quarterback, and their anchor on the offensive and defensive lines, senior Sataoa Laumea. You should hear plenty about them Friday night with our coverage of the game from the sidelines with HSPN West correspondents Nate Nunez and Kathryn Gallo.
