Dannie SandersDannie Sanders, team leader, is ready to make big time plays his senior season when the Wildcats hit the field this fall. Sanders not only makes a positive impact on the field he does the same in the classroom carrying a 3.48gpa that many college coaches around the nation would love to have on their roster when he graduates. This 6’4″ wide receiver will be making his way on to many recruiting boards soon.

HSPN Sports has a mission to give positive exposure to all PTRG Academy and STEALTH Rated student athletes (and their high school programs) to college programs across the nation with featured articles, interviews and live coverage.

Sanders is not only athletic, he is also smart and is learning to master the recruiting process fast.

Danny plays for Western High School in Davie, Florida, lead by Head Coach Adam Ratkevich, and they are coming off their best season in history of the school with a record 9-1 regular season and a first round appearance into the state playoffs. They have plenty of returning starters to make a run for the championship this season.

Look and see what he has learned after completing Lesson #2 (of 8 Lessons). Here are some of the responses Dannie had to some of the questions asked when he completed the Assignment for the Lesson. Stay tuned for more responses as Sanders continues to Master the Recruiting Process in the PTRG Academy…

After completing Introduction: The Truth about Recruiting were you aware of this information prior to seeing it here? (Yes or No) Explain.

‘No, I was unaware of most of the information I learned of throughout the topics in this lesson such as how to properly portray myself, how to organize and advertise myself and how to qualify myself to make things simple and stupid for college coaches so when I go through the recruiting triangle I can get the green light from administration and finance as well as the coaches.’

As you have progressed through the program, what are some of the things that stand out in your mind? What have you learned so far and how can that information you’ve learned be used in your everyday life?

As I progressed through the program the most important thing that stood out to me was time management… I want to separate myself from the other student/athletes competing with me. I learned it takes a lot of dedication toward this step in the process and I’m willing to work hard and schedule my life around it.’

Do you understand how the Recruiting Board at the University works? If so, how?

‘A position coach bring in multiple athletes names into a discussion with a head coach they discuss pros and cons and the head coach handpicks the athletes he thinks would fit the criteria of his athletic program but the coach only has so much money (or scholarships he can award) to work with in the recruiting process also so it is a business.’

Do you understand what a National Letter of Intent is?

‘Yes it is a binding agreement between the prospective student athlete and the school.’

Do you understand what happens when a National Letter of Intent is signed?

‘When you sign the National letter of intent all recruitment from other schools are banned and you are legally obligated to the terms of that contract for the next year.’

After completing lesson #2 let’s hear what Dannie has learned about the process and how it will impact the way he goes about owning the recruiting process;

‘After completing creating the ultimate list of colleges I obtained new information, prior to completing this module I learned new tools I can use to find the right schools for me not only that but the advantages of competing in different divisions.’

‘As I progressed through this topic things such as school location, money, and division advantages have stood out to me, an example would be that division 3 schools may offer more scholarship money.’

‘The PTRG program is a series of online modules that offers a great opportunity to learn the do’s and don’ts of college recruiting. It teaches you how to properly portray yourself, self-advertisement, and negotiating tactics.’

Stay tuned for more as Dannie has 5 more lessons to complete before becoming PTRG Certified.
